Titles and Vehicles Explained

CLEAN TITLE

A clean title is simply a title that an insurer or state has never changed. It’s not another type of branded title; it simply means that the vehicle has never been deemed a total loss. With a clean title, the car does not have a lien placed on it and has slightly higher resale value.

CLEAN TITLE WITH TOTAL LOSS HISTORY

These vehicles have a clean title but will show a total loss history . They have received damage, but it was not severe enough to be issued a salvage title. (They are clean title vehicles with a accident history.)The total loss will appear in reports such as a Carfax, Autocheck or your local DMV.  Please verify with your local DMV before purchasing that your state will abide by the laws of the titling state and issue a clean title in your home state

REBUILT TITLE

previously salvaged from events such as but not limited to (theft/collision/catastrophic event/hail/fire damage). Vehicles then get repaired and must pass multiple State inspections to have a Rebuilt title issued and be considered open road worthy.

SALVAGE TITLE

A vehicle receives a salvage title if it sustains a significant amount of damage and is declared a total loss (repair quotes with parts and labor submitted to insurance compaines determine if it exceeds a vehicles worth.) When the cost of fixing a car comes too close to or exceeds the vehicle’s value, an insurance company may determine a vehicle is totaled and the state will then issue a salvage title for the car. This vehicle is not considered roadworthy until it is repaired properly and passes State Inspections.
